Uvádí knihu do kontextu výzkumu dějin historického románu a historického myšlení obecně. Poukazuje na významné poznatky, kterými kniha koriguje dosavadní bádání, a polemicky se zamýšlí nad některými východisky a závěry. Description in English The review provides a brief overview of the book’s subject matter and presents the innovations it brings to the interpretation of the Czech historical culture in the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. It places the book into the context of previous research dealing with the transformations of the historical thinking between the Enlightment and Romanticism. The review points to important findings with which the book corrects previous research, and polemically reflects on some of its starting points, statements, and conclusions.
