The international conference on medieval theatre, drama and performativity presented medieval and early modern theatre as a type of shared cultural heritage that has contributed to the formation of a common cultural space since its inception and as an international phenomenon. The combination of Latin and vernacular in religious and secular theatre scripts created a linguistic melting pot in different parts of medieval Europe, the mixing of different languages and cultures was a base for flourishing cultural transfer of performative texts, genres, and conventions. These facts, and many others, were discussed not only in the conference papers, but also in the accompanying programme, which included theatre performances by professional and amateur theatre companies from the Czech Republic, the USA and Romania.
