The Bible has a very significant place in the historical lexicology and lexicography of the Old Czech language for several reasons. Translated from the Latin source text, the Bible is the most extensive and lexically rich text and one of the earliest sources in the vernacular. Due to numerous translations from different periods, it can be used as a language development indicator as well. In this study, desirable improvements in the research of the Old Czech biblical vocabulary are discussed.
