AnnotationThe Conceptual Design Review (CDR) of the hard X-ray and neutron diagnostics for the COMPASS Upgrade tokamak was held in IPP Prague on November 24, 2021. The CDR panel consisted of leading foreign experts in related fields, chaired by Dr. Marco Tardocchi from Istituto per la Scienza e Tecnologia dei Plasmi (Italyl). The aim of the meeting was to review proposed solutions for the hard X-ray flux monitors, based on CeBr3 scintillators, and for the neutron detection, based on He-3 neutron counters and a neutron activation system for integral neutron flux measurements. These diagnostic tools will be used for the physics research of regimes with runaway electrons and for assessment of the fusion power produced by plasmas of the COMPASS Upgrade tokamak.
