Digital content of electronic archives has to be stored in a secure way respecting guidelines for storing of archival information. The OAIS (Open Archival Information System) reference model is a well-accepted standard that serves as a starting point when building such an archive. The article describes the basic structure, functional model and data model of OAIS. The module Ingest for accepting the information packages from Producers and preparing them for storing to Archival storage is illustrated by a specific case study.
