Konference se zabývala vysvětlením a kritikou byrokraticky a komerčně deformovaného pojetí vědy a jejích institucí v posledních desetiletích a mapování alternativních možností pro novou vědeckou éru. Konferenční příspěvky doložily, že navzdory tomu, že se problematické tendence podařilo částečně brzdit a jejich normy částečně redefinovat, stále tyto tendence přetrvávají.

The conference was concerned with explaining and critiquing the bureaucratically and commercially distorted conception of research and its institutions in recent decades and mapping alternative possibilities for a new research era. Conference papers explained that despite the fact that these problematic trends have been partially curbed and their norms partially redefined, these trends still persist.
