In this chapter we report results of testing toxicity of TiO2, SiO2, Ag, ZnO and CuO nanoparticles (NPs) in diverse model systems and in humans using various biomarkers. Although we investigated various parameters in several model systems, we were always able to detect biological impacts following exposure. These results highlight importance of thorough toxicological testing before NMs are produced in large quantities and used in consumer products
