Description in English In 2019, ten years have passed since the scientific use of the COMPASS tokamak for thermonuclear fusion research began. Advanced plasma geometry and the ability to achieve H-mode with high energy retention have enabled the tokamak to be widely used in thermonuclear plasma physics research. The main goals of the research included the study of processes in marginal plasma, heat fluxes in plasma, the study of transition to operating modes with increased energy retention and related plasma instabilities or the study of passing electrons. Tokamak has become part of the European network of fusion experimental facilities and has engaged in global fusion research. The results obtained on the COMPASS tokamak ranked the Czech Republic among the countries with advanced research in thermonuclear fusion.
