Description in English X-ray mandrels are negative forms for electrochemical ultraprecise production of x-ray objectives. The key parameter of mandrels is the achievement of extremely high shape accuracy – they are rotationally symmetrical ellipsoid/hyperbolic markedly elongated shapes. Another parameter is the achievement of extremely low microroughness of the surface of the mandrel. The typical length of a mandrel reaches between 20 and 200 mm and their diameters vary between units and tens of millimetres. The optical surface of a mandrel is machined by the SPDT method, where the process is extremely demanding on vibration and runout suppression during machining. A special fastening device has been designed, developed, and tested. It enables a secure fastening of the free end of the mandrel while allowing its rotation almost without friction. The device also features three-dimensional adjustment which enables fastening of various types of mandrels while maintaining extreme stifness of the device.
