11. 5. 2017 zemřel bývalý pracovník Historického ústavu AV ČR historik Bedřich Loewenstein, který své dílo věnoval především odvrácené tváři moderní civilizace, tedy násilí, destrukci, ostrakizaci či vyloučení. Zájem o tyto fenomény vycházel z jeho vlastní životní zkušenosti.
In May 2017, a former member of the Historical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic died historian Bedřich Loewenstein, who devoted his work mainly to the turned-away- face of modern civilization, namely violence, destruction, ostracize or exclusion. The interest in these phenomena was based on his own life experience.
