Článek představuje hlavní přístup, který by měly být uplatněn v zamýšlené moderní mluvnici češtiny u výkladů o užívaní interpunkční čárky v češtině. Na základě poznatků z dotazů jazykové poradny Ústavu pro jazyk český a s ohledem na koncepci stávajících interpunkčních výkladů poukazujeme na to, že nově koncipované výklady by měly být strukturované podle očekávání uživatelů, tj. spíše slovníkově jako seznam spojovacích výrazů s průvodními interpunkčními výklady.

This paper is an overview of basic concepts that will be applied in the future Modern Grammar of Czech, namely in its reference section on writing the comma in Czech. Based on analysis of the present punctuation reference materials and taking account of punctuation enquiries in the language consulting centre of the Institute of the Czech Language, the paper suggests that new reference material on using the comma should meet the real expectations of its users, e.g. it should be dictionary-like: centered around conjunctions as keywords having detailed punctuation reference beyond.
