There are permanent efforts to enhance functional properties of the implants. This effort leads to large development in the thin films doping by various dopants. Through these dopations we try to improve many of the properties. For example, better adhesion, biocompatibility, durability, antibacterial behavior, corrosion, wearability and so on. These dopations could change a broad spectrum of the properties, some of them positively, others negatively. For exact description of these changes caused by the dopation many tests need to be done. For the most common properties there are tests like indentation for hardness and modulus of elasticity, adhesion tests like scratch test, tribology tests for wereability and friction. Other films properties are necessary to be known before testing like roughness, thickness, morphology and topography. For the needs of biocompatibility it is suited to test wettability and surface free energy before cell tests are done.
