AnnotationThe use of molecular techniques for species identification has begun to dominate the study of all taxa, and for many good reasons these techniques have become the golden standard. However, there is and always will be a need for the morphological identification of intestinal parasites. The field of primate parasite ecology has seen a burst of activity in recent years, especially in great apes.
The authors of this volume have been at the forefront of this activity for many years and their combined experince and expertise in classical parasitology and primatology lends strong credibility and value to this important work. This volume fills an important niche and is expected to become a reference of unsurpassed value for both the professional parasitologist and field researcher interested in the parasite fauna of African primates.
