AnnotationCrystal nucleation from Ni melt near critical supercooling is studied. The kinetic equations within standard nucleation model are numerically solved to determine the size distribution of nuclei F for homogeneous crystal nucleation of Ni melt. It is shown that the maximum size of nuclei rapidly increases with supercooling and decreases with melt volume. Although the supercritical nuclei are formed, the growth up to microscopic size does not occur if the number of supercritical nuclei is low.
