Gasses produced by sediments in freshwater lakes influence the ecosystem of the lakes. Also the amount of methane emitted through an ebullition from the lakes is considered as significant natural source in global carbon cycle. A model is developed to allow estimation of methane ebulition release based on easily accessible hydro-acoustic data, which provide information about bubble size distribution and their number density along the lake. Mass transfer of methane, carbon dioxide, oxygen and nitrogen is taken into account as well as their vertical concentration profiles. Review of available models for bubble drag coefficient and mass transfer coefficients for single bubble experiments was made and best available was integrated into the model presented.
