    Data from the Galileo spacecraft have shown the importance of measurements of waves in plasmas around Jovian moons. Galileo observations show whistler-mode waves in the magnetosphere of Ganymede similar to important classes of waves in the Earth magnetosphere: chorus and plasmaspheric hiss.
