Čapková se ve své analýze zaměřuje na analýzu a rozdíly v protižidovských diskurzech v textech Havlíčka a Nerudy a dochází k závěru, že pochopení principu ostrakizace židovské menšiny v liberálním i nacionalistickém myšlení nám může být pomocí pro pochopení ostrakizace i jiných menšin. Description in English Kateřina Čapková´s chapter examines the contrast between Karel Havlíček´s critical review of Siegfried Kapper´s Czech-language poetry (1846) and Jan Neruda´s warm obituary of Kapper (1879). In particular, Čapková analyzes the paradox of a nationalist liberal journalist Havlíček writing a scathing rebuttal of Czech-Jewish rapprochement, as represented by Kapper, and the anti-Semitic Neruda celebrating Kapper. She argues that a more nuanced model of anti-Semitism is necessary to come to terms with such discourses about Jews.
