Various types of low-temperature plasma were used for buckwheat (Fagopyrum aesculentum) seed treatment at three exposure times (180 s, 300 s, 600 s). Seed cultivation was carried out under laboratory conditions. Number of germinated seeds, length and weight of the seedlings were monitored. Data were analyzed by two-way ANOVA analyses. Effects of seed germination and early growth of seeds strongly depend on the type of plasma treatment, the exposure time and the combination of the both factors. The most significant positive effect on the germination and growth was observed after application of GlidArc plasma. The opposite effect was observed after application of plasma generated by surface dielectric barrier discharge (SDBD), which is characterized by high performance.
