We give an overview of magnetic fields in solar flares and prominences. Magnetic fields related to flares play a crucial role in the process of energy release and transport to the lower atmosphere, and thus magnetometry under the coronal and chromospheric conditions is extremely challenging. Magnetic fields in prominences are supposed to keep the prominence plasma at coronal heights against the gravity. Their measurements have been numerous, but high-resolution mapping is still missing. We discuss various flare and prominence models in connection to current and future high-resolution observations.
