Annotation	Trachydiscus minutus is shown to be a new organism with great potential for the production of PUFAs, especially of EPA. The strain, Lukavsky et Pribyl 2005/1, was patented in the Czech Republic (Lukavsky et al. 2010). The yields of EPA from T. minutus are comparable, sometimes better, than other algae in use at present.
