Description in English The book is focusing on the history of symposiums organised in Uherský Brod which became of the "niches" of the Czech historiography in the post-August period of normalisation. The analysis of circumstances of their birth as well as the analysis of their development concentrates on the relations between the Czech historiography and the power strategy of its control during the period 1948-1989. The first part of the publication brings two studies on the role and impact of two important centres of research in the field of comeniology in Czechoslovakia 1945-1989. The second part of the book is dedicated to a comparative analysis of the early-modern age research in Poland and in Czechoslovakia. The last part brings interviews not only with organisers and participants at the symposiums, whose fields of specialisation covered not only history, but also philosophy, Latin studies, etc. Workplace Institute for Contemporary History Contact Gabriela Golasová, golasova@usd.cas.cz, Tel.: 257 286 365 Year of Publishing 2013
