    AnnotationIn this study we characterized the EP, AF and NP by SHG imaging and nanoscale dynamic mechanical nanoindentation performed using the Hysitron TriboindenterTM TI950. Subsequent experiments will aim at establishing the correlation between visualized structures and biomechanical properties of the AF and NP. These findings will help to seek treatment or prevention of problems associated with disorders of intervertebral discs presenting with back pain
