    Cycloisomerization of enynes catalyzed by complexes of transition metals represents simple, and convenient to perform even on a larger scale, and therefore meet many of the stringent criteria imposed upon contemporary organic synthesis. Though seemingly trivial, PtClx (x = 2, 4) is able to catalyze an amazingly broad spectrum of C-C bond formations that allow to convert enynes and related substrates into a myriad of carbo- and heterocyclic products. Recently, we have developed modular approach to racemic [6]helicenes based on double cycloisomerization of biarylnaphthalenes bearing two alkynyl chains. In pursuit of our previous investigations in this field, we describe an alternative approach to [8]helicene-like molecules based on a PtClx catalyzed tandem cycloisomerization reaction of naphthalene tetraynes. Exploration of their cycloisomerization reaction and finding its scopes will be discussed herein.
