Fibre tapers of enhanced mechanical properties were prepared with waist diameters from tens microns to units microns. The surface of fibre tapers was sputtered by aluminium protective layer and fiber tip was covered by pH transducer BCECF. The V-tapers were successfully tested for local detection in pH range 5.0 to 7.0.
