V úvahách o smíření mezi konfesemi vyžadoval Komenský všestrannou snahu o věrnost pravdě a pokoji a takové jednání, jež povede k umenšování nenávisti a k posilování vzájemné přízně; mluvil spíše o smíření nežli o toleranci.

Concerning the reconciliation between confessions Comenius required universal effort to remain in truth and peace, and act in ways lessening hate and strengthening mutual favour; he spoke of reconciliation rather than tolerance.
