When related to activity of mGPDH, 3-39-fold higher ROS production was found in contrast to succinate dehydrogenase- or NADH dehydrogenase-dependent ROS production. It was also 22-66 higher compared to that in BAT. Our results demonstrate high efficiency of mGPDH-dependent ROS production localized to the dehydrogenase + CoQ and complex III, in mammalian mitochondria with a low content of mGPDH and suggest its endogenous inhibition in BAT Workplace Institute of Physiology Contact Lucie Trajhanová, lucie.trajhanova@fgu.cas.cz, Tel.: 241 062 400 Year of Publishing 2010
