It is much more difficult to generate a surface which is sufficiently "black" at cryogenic temperatures than at room or elevated temperatures. An experimental study was carried out to compare the thermal emissivity and absorptivity of a variety of black coatings on copper and aluminum substrates at temperatures in the range from 10 K to 300 K and the results are presented in this paper. The surfaces tested include paints and thin-film coatings. Workplace Institute of Scientific Instruments Contact Martina Šillerová, sillerova@ISIBrno.Cz, Tel.: 541 514 178 Year of Publishing 2010
