AnnotationThe effect of uric acid on endothelial dysfunction in bovine aortic endothelial cells was studied. It was found that uric acid did not have any protective effect in the cells with preexisting dysfunction and induced endothelial dysfunction per se. This effect was caused by enhancing superoxide generation by endothelial cells.
