AnnotationControlled production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) by NADPH oxidases presented in non-phagocytic cells is recently suggested to significantly participate in regulation of cellular functions. We screened human lung epithelial cell line A549 for expression of NADPH oxidases NOX1, NOX4, DUOX1 and DUOX2 by real-time PCR. fluorimetric, colorimetric, and chemiluminometric methods were applied and optimized to determine ROS production.
