The article deals with the 1908 jubilee Emperor Franz Joseph in Brno, it is based on analysis of newspapers published in Czech and German. The authors descibe not only the festivities but also the identification and not-identification of the inhabitants of Brno with the dynastic myth of the Habsburg Monarchy.
