AnnotationA 107-GHz continuous train of 1.7-ps pulses with an average power of 340 mW from a modulational-instability sigma-cavity Yb/Er fibre laser was obtained. The choice of the sigma-cavity ensures polarisation-stable operation of the laser while it allows also non-polarisation-maintaining fibres to be used.
