Cytoskelet eukaryotních buněk má tři základní fukce. Jde o funkci strukturní,pohybovou a informační. Strukturní funkce se projevuje při určování tvaru buněk a jeho změn. Pohybová je založena na schopnosti transformace chemické energie na energii mechanickou. Mezi informační funkce můžeme řadit předávání informace při dělení buněk, při komunikaci bunky s okolím a při vzájemné komunikaci buněk.
In this article are described esssential functions of cytoskeletal and motor proteins. Current status of our knowledge about the structure and functions of motor proteins is presented.
