In attempts to determine the causal agents of the full blossom disease in red and white currants extensive electron microscopy study was conducted. Neither characteristic phytoplasma bodies nor rhabdo, bacilliform or filamentous virus-like particles which were reported previously from currants infected with other diseases were observed.
