Emulsions comprising nanoparticles of poly(glycidyl methacrylate) or sulfonated poly(styrene) and low molecular weight impurities (emulsifier, salts, initiators) were purified by diafiltration in a three-compartment through-flow cell equipped with membranes. In contrast to traditional pressure-driven diafiltration, the process was carried out under vacuum. The influence of the nature of the membrane on the purification efficiency was studied.
