AnnotationThe essay is a reflection on the term of Central European art (or art in Central Europe), drawing on the example of unclear borders of the given territory and P. Piotrowski's concept of the "framing" of the given artist's context. The examples of Jan Autengruber (1887 - 1920) and Josef Lada (1887 - 1957) show the necessity of a case-by-case approach and of a search for flexible "frameworks". The contemporary Czech art is represented by Antonín Střížek with a tendency towards the nostalgia of the past.
