    Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) was modified by iradiation with excimer UV radiation in NH3 atmosphere. By this treatment, new groups (C-H, C-O and C-N) were produced in the PTFE surface layer, the presence of which in turn leads to significant enhancement of SMC adhesion.
