Annotation	The paper shows that the concept of the tetraplex appearance in the G-rich strand of the fragile X-chromosome repeats in vivo is very improbable. A hairpin of the motif, whose stability increases with the repeat length, rather is the probable structure responsible for the repeat expansion in genomes.
