    AnnotationThe latest results concerning the electrochemical determination of nucleic acid bases and oligonucleotides in the presence of Cu(II) are summarized. The measurement is based on the formation of sparingly soluble complex Cu(I)-purine on the mercury or carbon paste electrode surface with subsequent stripping by potential scan. The determination is very sensitive and can be performed in small volumes.
