Description in English The Czech Republic counts among countries with the highest divorce rates in Europe. It is possible, that work and working life of partners is one of the reasons for the break-ups of partnerships. - The problem of harmonization of two working carriers and professional lives with the care for children and household maintenance can lead into the formation of many conflict situations between partners. The paper aims to answer the question whether the working life could be considered to be significant cause of the decomposition of the marriages and partnerships in the Czech Republic. The findings are based on a quantitative analysis of data collected in a study of 5 510 respondents in 2005 in the Czech Republic.
