    Particle-in-cell simulations of a new kind of robust Langmuir probe for fast ion-temperature measurements in the tokamak scrape-off-layer (SOL) are presented. This probe, the so-called segmented tunnel probe (STP), has recently been built and successfully tested in the CASTOR tokamak. The numerical simulations, performed with the XOOPIC code, are used for calibration of the probe and interpretation of the experimental data. It is shown that the STP is able to measure the ion temperature in the SOL. Preliminary radial profiles of the ion temperature in the CASTOR tokamak, based on calibrations obtained from Particle-in-Cell simulations, are presented. In addition, consideration is given to optimizing the probe performance by means of PIC simulations.

    Prezentujeme particle-in-cell simulace nového druhu Langmuirovské sondy pro rychlé měření iontové teploty v okrajovém plazmatu tokamaku (SOL). Tato sonda, tzv. segmentová tunelová sonda (STP), byla nedávno vyvinuta a testována na tokamaku CASTOR. Numerické simulace pomocí kódu XOOPIC jsou využity pro kalibraci sondy a pro interpretaci experimentálních dat. Ukazujeme, ze STP měří iontovou teplotu v SOL. Prezentujeme také radiální profil iontové teploty v tokamaku CASTOR, založených na kalibracích pomocí particle-in-cell metody. Navíc zvažujeme možné způsoby optimalizace sondy.
