Publikace je první syntetickou prací o tomto žánru u nás vůbec a první monografií velikonočních a předvelikonočních koled. Zahrnuje přes 600 zápisových jednotek z různých regionů Čech od konce 19. do poloviny 20. století. Materiál pochází jak z publikovaných sbírek a časopisů, tak především z rukopisných fondů´EÚ AV ČR, Národopisného oddělení Národního muzea v Praze a ostatních muzeí a archivů v Čechách a byl doplněn záznamy ze současného terénního výzkumu.

Easter and pre-easter carols in Bohemia. The publication the first aggregate work on this subject ever. It consists of tens of round carols from various regions. The records mainly come from the manuscript treasures stored in museums and archives of Bohemia and of the Ethnological Institute in Prague. All available regional magazines and collections of works have also been utilized. They mainly relate to the period ranging from the end of the 19th century to mid - 20th century. The material is supplemented with current field research capturing the subsiding relics of round carols in selected villages in various Bohemian regions.
