    The crystal growth of heavy Ce- and Pr-doped Lu3Al5O12-based garnets and Li-containing crystals by the micro-pulling-down method was presented and discussed together with brief overview of their luminescence and scintillation characteristics, their modification with co-dopants and the influence of stoichiometry.
