Hot electrons are of key importance to understand many physical processes in plasma physics. They impact strongly on atomic physics as almost all radiative properties are seriously modified. X-ray spectroscopy is of particular interest due to reduced photoabsorption in dense matter. We report on a study of the copper K-alpha X-ray emission conducted at the ns, kJ laser facility PALS, Prague, Czech Republic.
