Příspěvek se zabývá postupy, které umožňují určit metrum českého sylabotónického verše. Po stručném představení Mukařovského statistického přístupu přinášejí autoři návrh vlastního řešení – algoritmu, na jehož základě je počítačový program schopen automaticky rozpoznat metrum verše. Autoři vycházejí jak z domácí strukturalistické tradice, tak – především – z přístupu americké generativní metriky.

The article deals with the procedure that helps to determine the meter of Czech accentual syllabic verse. After Mukařovský’s model is introduced the authors present their own solution – an algorithm that enables thze computer program to recognize automatically the verse meter. The authors derive their theoretical thinking from national structuralist tradition and mostly from the approach of American generative metrics.
