Text se zabývá nejdříve současnou ‵erozí‵ lidskoprávních standardů nejen v současné v Evropě (především na příkladu Francie). Aby tato ‵eroze‵ mohla být dobře uchopena a kritizována, je třeba vypracovat dobré ospravedlnění lidských práv. Proto se text dále zabývá problémy s ospravedlňováním lidských práv jako přirozených práv a dále jako morálních práv. Ukazuje, že tyto problémy je dosti obtížné překonat. Právě proto je z pragmatického hlediska vhodné, abychom přestali s lidskými právy zacházet jako s jakýmsi ‵nereflektovaným monolitem‵ použitelným třeba i k agresivnímu dosahování politických cílů. Vědomí o tom, že pojem lidských práv je problematický, nemusí přece vést k rezignaci či skepsi, ale spíše k ohleduplnosti a toleranci.

The first topic of the text is the description of ‵erosion‵ of human rights standards mainly in contemporary Europe (demonstrated on the example of France). To better understand and criticize this ‵erosion‵ it is good to develop a good justification of human rights. The second topic of the text is therefore the presentation of problems with justification of human rights as natural rights and as moral rights. Text shows that these problems are difficult to solve. It leads to the conclusion that the understanding of these difficulties should lead us to stop often questionable practice to use human rights as an aggressive tool to obtain political goals: To understand that human rights concept is problematic does not necessarily leads to resignation, but it can also increase our ‵self-restraint‵ and tolerance.
