Tato kapitola kontextualizuje dílo britského sociologa Johna Holmwooda. Rozlišuje dva rámce sociologického vědění: intelektuální a institucionální. Z hlediska těchto rámců interpretuje vývoj sociologie jako disciplíny v posledních několika desetiletích, především pak ve vztahu k nástupu neoliberálního režimu vědění.

This chapter contextualizes the work of John Holmwood. It differentiates between two frameworks of sociological knowledge: the intellectual and the institutional. The development of sociology as a discipline in the last decades is interpreted In terms of these frameworks, especiall in relation to the rise of neoliberal knowledge regime.
