The presentation gives an overview about an experimental apparatus and measurement technique tailored to relative density measurements of supercooled water or aqueous solutions. Results of relative densities for IAPSO seawater standard having nominal salinity 35 g/kg are presented from -20 °C to 25 °C and from the atmospheric pressure to 110 MPa. Acquired relative densities were further processed within thermodynamic integration yielding the values of absolute densities in the entire temperature and pressure range of measurements. Obtained results are compared in detail with valid reference equation of state for seawater [R. Feistel, Deep-Sea Research 55, 1639-1671 (2018)], which was adopted by The International Association for the Properties of Water and Steam (IAPWS) in 2008.
