Po skončení třicetileté války se panovnická rezidence natrvalo přesunula do Vídně. Návštěvy vladaře v Čechách byly proto velmi sporadické a zcela účelové. Tématem studie jsou návštěvy v jihočeském regionu, konkrétně průjezdy panovníka a jeho dvora šlechtickým rezidenčním městem Jindřichův Hradec (Neuhaus). Jejich význam spočíval v možnostech vzájemného setkávání s osobami, které by za běžných okolností neměly ke dvoru přístup, tedy především šlo o kontakty mezi dvorskou společností s panovníkem v čele a měšťany, ale i vesničany z okolí Jindřichova Hradce.

After the end of the Thirty Years' War, the monarch's residence was permanently situated in Vienna. The visits of the monarch to Bohemia were therefore very sporadic and quite purposeful. The subject of this study is visits to the South Bohemian region, specifically the passages of the monarch and his court through the noble residence of Jindřichův Hradec (Neuhaus). Their significance lay in the opportunities for mutual meetings with people who would not normally have access to the court, i.e. mainly contacts between the court society with the monarch at its head and the townspeople, but also villagers from the surroundings of Jindřichův Hradec.
