Článek se zabývá problematikou jednoduchého minulého času ve staré češtině. Vychází z výsledků obsáhlé doktorské práce na toto téma (Jana Zdeňková, 2021) a doplňuje je o přehled užití tvarů jednoduchého minulého času ve staročeských žaltářích. Na jazykovém materiálu čtyř staročeských překladů žalmů a jejich revizí od počátku 14. do konce 15. století je sledován proces zániku tvarů minulého času prostého ve staré češtině a faktory, které jej ovlivnily.

The article deals with the problem of simple past tense in Old Czech. It is based on the findings of a comprehensive doctoral thesis on this topic (Jana Zdeňková, 2021) and complements them with a survey of the use of simple past tense forms in Old Czech Psalters. The process of the disappearance of simple past tense forms in Old Czech and the factors that influenced it are traced on linguistic material from four Old Czech translations of the Psalms and their revisions from the beginning of the 14th century to the end of the 15th century.
