Topology optimization (TO) has come to the fore with the development of 3D printing. The most commonly used method is SIMP, a density-based approach, which outputs a constant density field after the elements and thus requires post-processing to obtain the shape. Conventional methods average the element densities into nodal values and consequently interpolate them, most frequently with linear polynomials. It yields only C0 continuous geometry which is usually not suitable for post-processing. Moreover, the FEM grid used for TO by the SIMP method is very often regular, which makes it difficult to affect the shape of complex details. In this paper, we focus on using the level-set method combined with RBF (radial basis function) in order to smooth the TO results. The proposed approach is also generalized to irregular grids
